What happened when one of the world's most prestigious fashion houses chose the Shetland Islands as the backdrop for its latest marketing campaign? The answer is something rather surprising and beautiful.
Creative director, Sarah Burton, and filmaker and photographer, Jamie Hawkesworth, wanted to embark on a journey of discovery. So, sharing a mutual love for British nature and wildlife, they headed to Shetland, the northernmost point of the country.
Featuring Mica Aganaraz, the campaign images are, according the Alexander McQueen website, 'the result of an adventure capturing a young, surreal and intoxicating beauty against the wild and rugged Scottish terrain.' As well as that, three local girls are shown playing in the hills and singing the anthem of Shetland's annual Up Hella Aa Viking fire festival.
