The 1980s were difficult for many Dubliners. Two decades of growth came to an end, unemployment rocketed and swathes of the Irish capital's built heritage fell into disrepair. German photographer David Jazay arrived in the city in 1981 on a school exchange programme. It marked the beginning of an obsession that would see him return every year for the next decade.
The results are documented in his series 'Dublin Before the Tiger', an epic visual exploration of the places and people of the city.
