The National and University Library of Iceland has a fabulous archive of maps of the country on their website, dating from 1544 to 1951. Almost 800 are available to view online or download as jpgs or pdfs. You can look at a timeline of the maps on the site, or search for what you want. Each image comes with a short historical description.
