Delicate artists' book work inspired by Danish island
Ø - Cherry Blossom Island Tree is a collaborative work by Sarah Bodman and Tom Sowden. Both an artists' book and video, it was made partly en route to the 'Ø (island)' exhibition at Doverodde Book-arts festival in Denmark in 2009.
Doverodde at the northern end of Jutland is cut off by water on all sides. The work was inspired by the artists' journey there by ferry from the UK.
Sarah and Tom live in Bristol and work at the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England. They publish their own artists' books and related materials, and write regularly for other associated publications.
