On the island of Floreana in the Galápagos archipelago, there is a barrel where, by tradition, travellers can leave unstamped postcards for others to deliver. Artist Simon Clark took 22 of these postcards home to Britain, then set out on his bicycle to hand deliver every one of them. In an article in The Guardian, he describes the adventure.
"Each postcard" he says, "with its gaudy depiction of a distant archipelago, became a portal through which I was able to discover the characters, complexities and contradictions of an altogether different set of islands – the British Isles."
