This year, the last lighthouse in Scotland to be fully automated will officially open to visitors for the very first time. Fair Isle South Lighthouse is one of two on the island (population 70) and a voluntary community group is currently seeking donations from islomanes, pharophiles and anyone else who would like to see this landmark finally open to the public.
The Fair Isle Lighthouse Society is seeking to raise just £1000 to help make the venture possible. Click below to find out more.
